Radnor Memorial Library Receives Teen Reading Lounge Grant
Radnor Memorial Library received a Teen Reading Lounge grant from the Pennsylvania Humanities Council for the Winter/Spring of 2017 to create an interactive book club featuring discussions, activities and classes that promote literacy and the humanities.
Radnor Library’s Teen Reading Lounge program will be inspired by the 2015 hit musical Hamilton. The revolutionary portrayal of our founding fathers has taken not only the Broadway world, but pop culture and beyond by storm. We will be looking at lyrical narration, immigrant experiences and nonfiction representation in literature. The Hamil-Teen Book Club will meet for six sessions from February to April of 2017. Sessions will feature a hip hop dance class at Wayne Ballet, a multicultural cooking lesson at the Wayne Art Center, LEGO stop motion animation and more. Participants will receive copies of the books, gift cards and other incentives for attending programs.
